Born in Kansas City Missouri and raised near Smithville Lake, Rod brings over 30 years of hunting and fishing experience to the American Outdoorsman Team. Soon after bagging his first rabbit with a single shot 410 at age 8, Rod crumpled his first duck. The rest is history. He and his father proceeded to chase ducks and geese all over Missouri for the next 30 years and still do to this day. Rod enjoys any and all types of hunting and fishing but waterfowling is his passion. An accomplished caller and a pretty good shot, Rod knows there is a lot more to waterfowling than just shooting ducks. "A successful hunt isn't just about filling a limit of birds" says Clark. "It takes countless hours of practice and preparation as well as a good amount of scouting." Nothing gets his blood boiling more than the autumn changing of the leaves followed by that cool north breeze. It's hunting season!
Rod is also a full time Food Director and Chef. None of the animals Rod hunts go to waste. He has written many recipes for wild game designed for the average cook. He travels all over the Midwest doing competition cooking. His trophy case of plaques and ribbons set nicely along the walls of his family room decorated with hunting and fishing photos.
Rod still lives in Kansas City with his understanding and tolerant wife Amy and new little boy, Spencer. He won't force hunting onto his son, but believe me, the opportunity to follow in his dad's footsteps will be there.
"I love the outdoors. I love everything about it. It's where I belong."
